WELCOME to the Haslemere Angling Society website.

THIS site has been designed for use by both existing and potential members. You can contact us by email on the “contact” page and we will respond. It has limited information deliberately as explained at the foot of this page.

FOUNDED in 1936 we aim to offer uncrowded fishing on four still waters and a for an additional payment use of a local club’s four stretches of river catering for the interests of all our 200+ members, be they specialist, leisure or match angler. We believe in observing as much as possible the statutory close season. Not only is it the ideal opportunity to maintain waters, it allows a recovery period for fisheries and rekindles that “hunger” for the start of the new season. We pride ourselves on nearly 50% of members taking part in one or more organised work parties. We hope you will identify the choice to be part of a voluntary organisation and are interested in preserving the traditions of angling through a club.

PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBERS need to apply for membership and the process is detailed on the site via the link on the left hand side. If your interest is in carp fishing and are thinking of joining we operate a “carp night ticket” system at Shillinglee. Currently no applications being accepted as all available tickets have been allocated. If your application is accepted and you are eligible you may apply to for when a waiting list is started. When a vacancy arises provided you have remained a member continuously throughout will be invited to join. It was set up some years ago to control carp angling on the water. It takes on average around 5 years before a vacancy arises. Frustrating for those on the list those with a ticket appreciate what it achieves in the best interests of the fishery and the fish.

QUALITY of fishing is comparable to other local clubs although probably not matching commercial day ticket fisheries available in the area. The waters contain the usual roach, all species of carp, tench, perch, bream and pike.

WE do NOT have day ticket for any of our waters. However members can take a guest on a limited number of occasions provided they have paid for a guest ticket in advance from the outlets where they are available as published in the handbook.
